Beware of comedians carrying guitars

Went to see Rhod Gilbert at Chalk Farm last night in a rehearsal for his Edinburgh Fringe show. He was excellent.

The supporting act, Phil Nichol was not. Take the F word away and 2/3s of his act would go! As one of teachers used to say, not funny, not clever, just rude. Why do comedians think that playing a guitar fast and pulling silly faces is funny?

Never, ever go and see Phil Nichol

He read from a script, had arguments with the audience, got in a huff, kept leaving bits out of his act (that was a plus) and stormed off early saying he didn't care as he was getting paid and we weren't seeing anything. He was right, I'd pay not to see him!
