if you say you felt threatened or scared then there is more chance it's viewed as self defence. Whereas if you claim that you weren't scared of them then it's viewed as though you did it with intent. A policeman told me that. He said if you ever get in a fight then tell them you were scared for your safety. Not that I get in fights, I can't be arsed with it.
