The 'event' at 14:15 today will infact consist of:
- Stuart Nelson being presented with a special cushion in a ceremony to recognise his services to bench-warming last season.
- Mark Fotheringham being placed in stocks, with attendees to the fair being charged ?2 each to throw an assortment of expired fruit and veg at him. It's hoped that this attraction will help raise around ?2,000,000, most of which will probably not be made available to Gunn for transfer activities.
- Jamie Cureton being presented with a special 'Curo - You've Been Framed' DVD, compiling his 'hilarious' misses last season.
- Darren Huckerby giving yet another token wave to his adoring public, this time wearing the latest in must-have LA-style sunglasses and vest. Hucks is expected to announce his signing to an LA hip hop label, who describe him as 'Eminem-meets-Milli Vanilli, just with a funnier accent' - this followed by the first public airing of his debut single 'Da Rodent Killa'
- A 6-a-side match between the current U-19 side and a team of former City players from the Nigel Worthington era. This will be billed as an exhibition game, but will infact act as a trial match for players such as Paul Heckingbottom, Brian McGovern, Andy Roberts, Alex Notman and Marc Libbra. Those who are a success are expected to be unveiled as new signings after the match.
- Bryan Gunn dressing up in his Sherriff costume in a tent called 'Gunny's Grotto', where kids can have their photo taken with him for ?2 each. This initiative is expected to raise around ?30, with all proceeds being made available to Gunn's transfer fund.
