Seems simple enough to remove accroding to here
go to CONTROL PANEL > Add or Remove Programs > it will bring up a window showing all the progarms on your computer -> search for AVG Toolbar > and remove it from the list
to only disable AVG Toolbar (or other toolbars):
go to View (on the menu bar of your browser) > Toolbars > uncheck the said toolbar/s to disable
