The clubs demise goes on
If we had bought Ashton at the beginning of the Prem season perhaps we would have stayed up. The club returned a profit of 6.3m that year.
Ashton was sold and replaced for 50% of the fee by Earnshaw who was subseqeuntly sold and replaced for 25% of his fee by the ageing Cureton.
Green went for 2m, replaced for less than 50% of that and now Marshall has gone and we are awaiting a cheap or free replacement.
Etuho gone 1.5m replaced by russel for about 30% of the cost. Safri gone undisc. replaced with Brellier free.
Hucks released.
Clingan about to go for 1m having been replaced with another unexciting Bosman.
Yes we are third division and the best players will leave but at least we could spend the money on proper replacements, pay the money and get some of the best young players in league 1 and 2.
The ship has been steered into the icebergs so we kicked the captain and first mate off the boat and are now floating hopelessly into the abyss.
