Would this be the most depressing signing Norwich have ever made? Grant Holt not much better, a 30 year old who has played league 1 but was prepared to step down to league 2.

At least give us some hope. Is it really the case that in the 27 EU countries there are not any players of a better standard, with a potential to improve further, of whom a move to Norwich, albeit the shambles we are at the moment, would be a step up?

If the Byfield and Holt stories are just agents pushing their players and not real targets why doesn't Gunn just say he is not interested in them.
