it should have a 13 amp fuse mate, any lower and the fuse would blow as a motor like this draws a lot of current. Also the motor should have a thermal cut-out, so the hairdryer should stop long before any wires start melting. Check for the Brisitsh Safety Standard "Kitemark" and also check its got a "CE" stamp.
