well to be honest I don't use a hairdryer but it's not surprising it gets hot,

just be careful not to use it for massive amounts of time in a row. You don't want it to be melting the insulation on the cables although it would have to be f**king hot to do that. I think it's just one of those appliances that draws so much power that it will get warm. I wouldnt worry too much.
