tbh - why offer it in the first place

This just smacks of bad budgeting and planning. If they really need the rebate, then the initial setting of ST prices with rebate offer suggests that they had no plans of implementing it - ie never expected to be relegaed, which is short sighted to say the least. they could have taken a half way route which would have allowed omsething which made us think we weren't being ripped off if relegated but without having to go through this farce of 'here's a discount - ooh not really we need the money'
