Gunny was probably the right appointment at the time, given that we had about a week to get players in. We were rat-arse broke, and needed someone who knew the players, knew the club, knew the resources available and knew the targets we were looking at and could afford. For those reasons the obvious choice was either Stephenson or Sadler but for whatever reason they both chose to bugger off. Tellingly, I see Stephenson has washed up at Huddersfield with Lee Clark.

Second time around? No. But that's with a whole bunch of caveats around stuff I simply don't have a clue about - money and candidates. I do know there were people out there I wouldn't want within a hundred miles of the club.
