He'd had a right earfull off that fan earlier when a shot went whooosh nowhere near the goal, so when it finally went in after canoning off his shin the keepers arse, both goal net stantions, a metropolitan police officer, John Wark, and the underside of the bar, I thought he was pretty much OK to give the fan some treatment back.

Plus the fan in question is a Chelsea fan, so in those circumstances giving him a Cantonaing would have been resonable, IMO.
