Did you ever believe that though? Last season top half would have been good.
Its not easy to go from the s**te we had, after ripping apart the squad (which it largely needed) to promotion team over 1 close season.
I expected consolidation this year. Then another summer to build on that to push on this year.
Its not a lack of aspiring, and its not about being happy with it, its about being realistic as to what this club can achieve in its current state.
Its also not about being happy about the clubs current state, the issues are separate for me.
There are clearly problems with how the club has been run, problems that are there and will affect the playing side. This is where people need to separate the two.
Having issues with the board, over the state of the club, means we have to accept the playing side is hamstrung.
We don't have to like it (hence the issues with the board) but if we believe that is the case, the playing expectations need to be tempered with that belief.
In the mean time, we do what we can to ensure the custodians of the club are working to improve and rectify their errors, putting us in a situation where we can realisitcally hope for promotion.
You cannot believe the club is badly run, AND that we should win the league, its either or.
