Surely the big problem with this appointment isn't so much the person as the timing?
Given that we are going to have a new Chairman and Chief Executive who'll be working with the manager on a daily basis, surely they should've had an input on who the new manager should be?
To make this appointment before a new executive team is announced seems to indicate that they'll be merely be figureheads for fans to exchange e-mails with, rather than individuals whose opinions and expertise is listened to and acted on?
