It was suggested that we don't do well in away "must-win" games

In truth there are very few "must wins" but here are some memories of crucial away games:
24th April 1972: Orient 1 Norwich 2. City needed 2 points from the last 2 away games of the season to ensure promotion. And they got them both in one go, ensuring that the players could get pissed up safe in the knowledge that a point at Watford would make them champions.
21st April 1973: WBA 0 Norwich 1. Until a week before this City hadn't won in the league since November when they beat WBA at home. But victory over Chelsea set up this relegation 4 pointer nicely. David Cross scored a late winner. This set up the "must win" match to end all "must wins" when we beat Palace and saved ourselves.
26th April 1975: Portsmouth 0 Norwich 3. With Sunderland breathing down our necks, City thrashed Portsmouth - George Graham, Kenny Foggo and all - to win promotion.
2nd April 1983: Luton 0 Norwich 1. A real relegation 6 pointer - City were unlucky not to win by more. This was like watching football in a prison camp.
9th April 1983: Birmingham 0 Norwich 4. Another 6 pointer just one week later. This was billed as a tense affair - and as a battle between Bertschin and his replacement Mick Harford. Harford was rubbish and Bertschin ran riot. This was the last time we got to use the "9-1" chant. Off the field highlight was an elderly Birmingham fan attacking Ron Saunders with his walking stick.
14th May 1985: Steve Bruce's winner in a monsoon allowed Everton to cheat us out of our rightful place in Division 1.
