Trying to get through this afternoon ...
Dr Gunn has indeed reached for the defibrillator and the Canary corpse is twitching again after a fine 2-0 win against Watford. Now two places and one point above the disaster zone with three games left to play. However we are still in intensive care with I think, one win and one draw still needed.
It can still be done, with Dr Gunn's resuscitation technique. But it's doing me no good at all.
To help take my mind off things, I thought that a trip to the Moss Rose to watch Macclesfield play Morecambe would be a distraction on a sunny day. It wasn't. One of the most frankly hopeless attempts to play football that I've seen. John Rooney, Wayne's brother tried his best, but it was all quite awful. As the football was hoofed aimlessly around the park, I spent the time contacting fellow Canaries at Carrow Road. Thankfully the news was good.
There was however one lovely moment that sums up lower league football with small crowds. Several gentlemen on the terrace I was on, continually called for Macc to bring more width into the game. Keith Alexander, the Macc Manager, the turned round to the crowd and said "I'm trying to but they're not listening".
I've seen several lower league games this year. And as a regular away follower of the Canaries, I don't want to see many more next season.
Come on Gunny, you can do it!
