My next door neighbour is a joiner. He's spent almost half of the last six months or so

not being able to get jobs. It's been picking up in the last few weeks, I think (I haven't heard him say that, but his van is away during the day more often recently).

He's spent his time doing up his own house, and they've been living mainly on her wages, and what he gets from the odd job now and again.
