Midfield was where it went wrong
Yes we missed Wes and his creativity but Crofty looked half fit because he more than likely was only half fit. Sammy had played in two cup finals for Norn Iron and Carney was poor, not sure whether he is just poor anyway or a day in a plane had jaded him.
Lost count of the number of crucial tackles that Shacks made in the first half, and was pleased to get to h/t level, although we had chances.
Second half was just frustrating. Some subbing by numbers didn?t help, I would have changed it round as soon as we were behind, but we lost fifteen minutes with the same team, when nothing was happening for us. And then two changes with ten to go when Cody should have been on earlier.
And I can?t understand why we didn?t keep the same team from Brum. If Crofty and Carney we both struggling from travel and injury they could have played some time each.
And the ref was awful.
