There is a perception amongst our support that we could have avoided the release clause in Cody McDonald's contract, this is un-helpful and wide of the mark.

Cody was in a very strong negotiating position at the time as he already had an offer on the table from Rushden and Diamonds of ?500 per week.

I imediately agreed to double this and insert on Cody agent's (his Mum) insistance a release clause at ?50k.

We wish to thank Cody for his efforts at Norwich and wish him all the best at Barcelona.
