If you're spending that much, I think you're going to get quality whatever you buy.

To be honest, once you get up above the ?30-?40 mark the difference in sound quality between them and the ?100+ models is not massive. Particularly when you compare it against the massive difference between ?10 headphones and the ?30-?40 ones.

Also it depends where and when you're going to use them: I'd never spend proper money on a set of headphones for running or for the gym, simply because any benefit you get in sound quality is negated by the fact that you're puffing and panting like a steam train.
