Cage Birds
The idea that keeping birds in a cage is a form of cruelty can be regarded as a prejudice very far removed from the truth, because although all cage birds came originally from wild forms in the open, they have become domesticated for so long that they regard their cages as homes rather than prisons. This is easily seen in the case of the canaries which are 'finger tame' and rejoice in their daily flight perching on picture rails or on their owners' heads and gladly returning through the open cage door for a rest or a song.

so prudence without ambition it is then.
