Barclay End

I sit in the Barclay and admit i did shout "get on with it near the end before Marshall took goal kicks but it was not specifically aimed at Marshall. It was aimed at the team in general as there seemed to be a lack of urgency from all of them. What really annoyed me was they were all ambling back towards the half way line with their backs turned away from Marshall. I get the impression some of them are just going through the motion and expect us to get out trouble. I just hope they realise the severity of the situation we are in.

The appears to be a real lack of character and fight in our team. For 10 mins after me scored the goal we looked full of confidence, they all suddenly wanted the ball and could and should have scored another. However as soon as they equalised the heads hit the floor again and a few players went missing.
I feel we lack fighters and characters in the team who would grab the game by the scruff of the neck when we are in trouble and lift the other players around them. I know its been said on many occasions but in the season we went up we had players like this in abundance. They were by no means the stars but they gave us the stiff backbone we so badly miss now. Flem, Malky, Eddy and Holt are the types i'm rambling on about.

I feel for Gunny as he is trying his best but I think he is out of his depth. For the period of sustained pressure we had after our goal we were playing with a high tempo and Burnley were struggling to cope yet Gunny was telling them all to slow down. With the likes of Hoolihan, Croft etc we have to play with a high tempo.

Finally, I hope he proves me wrong but I just can't see what Killen offers. He is not a target man, he is not a link man, he is not quick and I just can't see him ever getting near scoring. He reminds me of Peter Thorne.
