Geoff Watling was indeed a legend and helped save the
club twice, but never played or managed.
For Gunny to play (v successfully),finish 3rd (best ever for the club) and in Europe, his courage throughout his daughter's illness, to work 'behind the scenes' in all manner of roles at the club, Sheriff for a year, coach, scout.....and then to become manager! And IF (a big if, but indeed IF) he got us into the Premiership, then SURELY, Gunny would be the all time hero? Must be surely?
Watling was a legend but everything Gunny has done and *could* achieve as boss, would surely eclipse?
If not now, then in 50 years he would!!
