Is your hard-drive recorderer linked up to the on-screen Sky Guide?

I don't know if third-party hard-drive recorderers can do that, but if they can't then that would be a real advantage.

Plus, with Sky+ you have two feeds into the box from the statellite dish, meaning that you can record one sky channel while watching another, or record two sky channels simultaneously. Definite advantage there.
