i really really can't understand all these "but it says stuff that isn't true in real life" complaints.

it's a f**king novel.

it's supposed to contain stuff that isn't true in real life.

as for the "all institutions exist" stuff, anyone remember the ed wood film "plan nine from outer space" that started with some bleached loon stating what we were about to see was based on sworn congressional testimony and was all fact.

haven't seen any complaints about that recently.

it's not literate in the sense that, say, robert harris is - but it's a damn fine potboiler notwithstanding.

don't buy dan brown's other stuff though - it's s**t. i read his other three and you can see him searching for the form that he perfected in davinci code - the others just aren't as well written.
