It's hard to tell just how it will work out. He was an apprentice at Man City and scored a few at youth/reserve level, then Keggy Keegan had the genius idea of turning him into a fullback. Right at the end of his time there he went back to centre forward and scored something like 7 in 3 games and was prompted bombed out of the club and went to Oldham.

He scored a few at Oldham, but spent a lot of time in and out with injury. At Hibs he went on a tremendous jag of 15 goals by Christmas and then ruptured his achillies. He was all set to go to Cardiff when he was fit again, but Celtic turned up at the death with an offer which was simply far too much for him to turn down. Wee Gordie used him a bit, but when Vennegor of Hesselink got injured and his chance came, he was already out with a long-term injury...
