Overall I was encouraged by last night

as I said earlier I think a lot of it was down to it being a bit too easy in the first half. But I did think that we could have shaken it up a bit earlier - Soton were looking stronger and we weren't really penetrating. Rusty did fulfil the striker's role well in that he was offside frequently. But he looked at his best when he forgot that he was a striker and dropped into midfield.
