unless the club takes up their option to extend it by another year. It seems the club hasn't yet done that.

He must be worried about not being offered a new deal and being stuck without a club. Therefore it is totally understandable that he will be looking for a new club and that he plans to train with another club during the summer should Norwich not extend his contract.
