Our server (running SBS 2003) was having some weird problems. On bootup, the screen would be black and all you could see was the SBS logo. You could just about work out where to put in the password, but it was coming up with an error dialog that you also couldn't see (apart from the warning exclamation mark). I found a MS Knowledge base article about it, somehow the registry entry for the default user colours had all been set to 0 0 0 (i.e. black) and I need to get in and change them in the registry to be able to log onto the server.
