Anyone find the local press coverage a bit odd?

Archant were running stories about how "Hoolahan is expected to put pen-to-paper on a Canary contract within the next few days" a couple of weeks ago, but then they never followed it up with anything confirming or denying it from the club.

Surely, the first thing you do when you report something which doesnt happen is to find out why and report on that? Just strikes me as odd that it's vanished off the face of the planet in the local news, and nobody's asked any questions.
