which others?

when the chain fell off, Shcleck and Contador were in a smallish group containing the main riders. Contador had pulled away by a few yards from the others because he was the only one to follow Schleck's attack.

He *could* have allowed the small group to rejoin him, and told him that he was waiting for Schleck to rejoin (that wouldn't have been that weird - riders wait for each other quite often in the Tour).

But it would have meant he lost any advantage he had gained from being the only one to go with Schleck (mind you he did lose that advantage anyway - the main riders caught him pretty quickly - so the only big loser was Schleck).

It was a bit tricky. But I think it's going to sully Contador's Tour victory a bit, so suspect he'll end up regretting deliberately exploiting Schleck's mishap. Which he plainly did.
